The Cottage story … a work in progress. The family cottage on beautiful Lake of the Woods was the brain child of my dad.

Just a fun loving guy who’s interested in technology, passionate about family, and a follower of Christ. Ouch! Originally uploaded by Big Dadoo Sometime during the night this tree came down on the truck. Not exactly a great thing to wake up to, but the damage is minimal and the door still works fine and no glass was broken so I’d say we got off easy. After a few cups of coffee Read More …

A nice Saturday morning on May at the LakeOriginally uploaded by Big Dadoo That’s right, at about 6am, it’s snowing. I’ve kicked my 2 a day Starbucks habit! For a whole week I didn’t pull that shiny gold Starbucks card out of my wallet, not once! Did I give up coffee? Not a chance, well at least not yet. I’ve replaced Starbucks by brewing my own at the office with a French Press and coffee Read More …

The first FOG ride of the year was great. It was cool at about 1°C and a fair breeze, but still a great ride, well for most of the way. About 21 of us set off at 10am and several turned back at Lockport while the rest of us headed over to Birds Hill Park Read More …
Friday was my first cycle commute of 2009 and it was good to get back on the road with the mountain bike as opposed to idling in traffic with the truck. The first think I noticed is that I seem to have neglected the bike a bit from some previous winter ride and the drive Read More …
An incredible full red-orange moon on the western horizon and Orion’s Belt over the driveway, what a welcome to the lake on the first trip of the year. With the fireplace blazing and the mild temperatures, the cottage was quick to warm but the first few minutes in bed were quite exhilarating!
