  • Peace in every circumstance

    Peace in every circumstance

Inspite of everthing going on in my life these days I’m sitting in the living room with a coffee experiencing the peace that passes all understanding.

  • My God of the break through

My God of the break through

    Ps 42:11

“My God will break through for me” really spoke to me this morning. As I wait for next steps in my PITA situation I’m confident that things will go well. Testing and procedures will occur in a timely manner and God will make a way and provide the “break throughs” that will lead to healing in my body.

  • Suddenly there was great calm

Jesus can suddenly bring great calm in the midst of storms.

  • The Destination

    The Destination

Jesus does more that take us to heaven He brings us next to (alongside of) the Father. The Father is the destination.

“Jesus explained, “I am the Way, I am the Truth, and I am the Life. No one comes next to the Father except through union with me. To know me is to know my Father too.”

  • Thankful

    Thankful

A while back I decided to make an effort to be more thankful. And to that end I started a list on the iPhone Reminders app and I get a daily prompt to put something on the “Thankful” list. Now not every day gets and entry but most do. Another facet of this initiative is to monthly review the list to remind me of all the things I’m thankful for.

As a part of this month’s review I thought that once in a while I’d share one of these “Thankful” items on the blog. First up is this one.

Easton is my Grandson and this phone call was quite out of the blue and I don’t normally get any phone calls for the Grandkids so this was kind of special. The tree fort is at the lake and for me this meant he was thinking of good times at the lake and planning for more good times in the future. ?

  • The Good Shepherd

    The Good Shepherd

The good Shepherd knows the way, the path, to “green pastures” and “still waters”. Pastures and waters He will use to “restore our soul”. Psalm 23:2-3

    Godly Self Confidence

Wow, a good one to remember and review from time to time.

  • Farm Experience

    Farm Experience

Today I was privileged to be out on the Bergman Farm riding shotgun in the combine with Will.

I arrive at about 8:45 a.m. and we immediately hop in the combine and head out to the field.

The combine – My ride for the morning and Will’s mobile office

Once out on the field Will pick up the header and gets down to business.

Clearing some mud that got stuck in the 42′ cutters

We have a great conversation all morning about farming, charitable works, and other stuff. I get a much greater appreciation for what farmers do for all of us consumers. Every so often Will unloads the combine on the fly to the grain wagon which after a few offloads transfers it’s load to a waiting grain truck on the road at the edge of the field. This process is repeated all day long until conditions like moisture dictate a stop for the day.

Into the truck and back to the silo on the farm

I had an awesome morning and learned a lot in a short period of time. Now when I fly by on the highway and see combines harvesting in the fields I have a new appreciation of what it take to run a farm, thanks Will!

And then there is a video that Apple Photos automagically put together.

  • Something Fishy

On the weekend, August 19-21, Parker and Dane had their friend Aryton down at the lake. It was a busy weekend with swimming, tubing, seadoo rides, kneeboarding and fishing!

This was Aryton’s first time fishing and he hit the trifecta, first fish, biggest fish and most fish! Over several outings on the weekend the boys collectively caught 18 bass.

Dane has one on the line!

Fun fact: Aryton’s grandfather was a big Formula One fan and he is named after Aryton Senna, in honour of his grandfather.
