  • It started off so innocently

    It started off so innocently

I invited the guys to the boat show. We saw some impressive water craft. Drooled over some ridiculously expensive fiberglass. Went out for wings and a beverage and talked about stuff.

And then, the next day, it started.

There were a few more discussions and then today we’re in a store looking around. Parker saw lots of cool stuff and had to get into, or on to most of them.

But we really knew what we were looking for and after some discussions about the colour we close a deal on one of these bad boys.

With a trailer and a few accessories. Now somebody is shopping for some more add on gear.

Going to be some fun times at the lake this summer.

  • Family Time

Between services at church today I got the privilege of spending a few special moments with Scott, Mandy, Easton  and Clark.

So nice to touch base and connect even for a few moments. Shared a cookie with Easton and had a nice cuddle with Clark who was so relaxed and looking around checking out all the action.

So great to have family at church together

  • Make my day

Brought a little tear of joy & love when I received this message today.

  • Christmas Eve

Best Christmas present ever was having our entire family, extended family and church family together in the Christmas Eve service. Having your children and grandchildren together at church, worshiping, keeping the young ones engaged, and just reflecting on the family  is the best gift ever. So proud of them all.

  • Newest Family Members

I’m pretty excited about our newest family members, a couple of handsome young men.

First on the scene was Dane William Stewart (left) on Tuesday October 28 at 8 lbs 9 oz and 21.5 inches. Parents Desire and Eric and brother Parker.

Only a few short days later Dane was join by Clark Wesley Stewart (right) on Sunday November 2nd at 8 lbs 12 oz and 21.25 inches. Parents Mandy and Scott and brother Easton.

As a grandparent it’s hard to put into words the excitement, joy and happiness that four grandsons bring into my life. To have the whole family, sons, daughters & grandkids together, close by, and good relationships is a blessing that I’m very thankful for.

I’m looking forward to them growing up and being a part of their lives at every stage.

  • Spending time with Parker

I spend some time talking with Parker over the weekend. I didn’t think I was that boring but he seems to have slept through most of it except for the odd response here and there. Still a good time and I enjoy his company.

  • PJS, Coincidence?

My Uncle Stan was in town this weekend stopping of on his way to Calgary to visit his family. We got together with him for dinner at Carol’s and of course a major part of the conversation was about the birth of our Grandson Parker Judah Stewart.

As the evening progressed there was a lull in the conversation and out of the blue Uncle Stan says “Did you realize that Parker has the same initials as your mom?”

I had not thought of this and it was quite a surprise! What a special connection between Parker and his Great Ama, Phyllis Joyce Stewart.

She would have been so proud, happy and excited for Des, Eric & Parker. This little connection may not mean much to most, but for me I’ll forever more think of my mom every time I see Parker and know that one day they will meet, and that will be such an exciting time.

  • Welcome

It was good to finally meet you in person the other day. I know it was kind of busy and you were meeting a lot of new people, but I feel that we really connected.

When we were close, and our eyes locked, I could feel that special bond starting to form. Your grip was strong, a confident handshake that will serve you well and take you many places in this life. Despite all the excitement, you were calm and collected, adapting like a pro to your new surroundings.

I look forward to getting to know you better over the coming years and strengthening our relationship. I’m sure we’ll have much to learn from each other.

    With much love,
    Your Granddad

P.s. Happy Birthday Parker Judah Stewart

Somebody has a birthday and we’re celebrating tonight. The BBQ is fired up and ready to go! Guests are on the way and a fabulous dinner awaits. Mmmm, the dessert will be some awesome frozen chocolate goodness.

  • Roadies Rule

With the wet weather and Plan B in effect we’re riding on the road in the park. The roadies went the distance just ask Scott, Daniel, Chris or Garry. Lots of climbing and wicked fast twisty decents. Very cold too.
