  • Going to the TSO Show

You’ve probably seen this or heard of this Internet video phenomenon.

The thing I didn’t know when I first saw it a couple of years ago, was that the music is TSO and they ROCK!  After seeing them live last year in Fargo, I’m hooked and we’re going to the Winnipeg show on Nov. 3rd.

Well this year TSO has issues a challenge to top the above video. Check out the contest and some of the other outdoor lighting extravaganzas set to TSO music.

  • Cyclist of the Day

As most of you know I’m an avid cyclist and today, biking home from work, I saw quite the cyclist. As I approached a stop light I notice a woman opn a bicycle, nothing new there as more and more people are cycle commuting. The bike was a nice cuiser with shocks and a comfy looking seat.
Then I noticed the cigarette. She was riding and smoking, and smoking it down to the filter tip, sucking the life out of it. A little different for a cyclist but whatever. Then I noticed the cup holder. A cup holder with a Tim’s in it. There she was, smoking and working a cup of coffee at a stop light in downtown traffic on a bike! I guess she could have been on a cell phone too.

  • Words

While viewing a video of a conference on visualization of information called Many Eyes and the work that IBM Research is doing at the Center for Social Software, I was re-acquainted with Wordle, a creation of a fellow IBMer.

This word cloud in my blog fed into Wordle. Do I really use the work “back” that much? Apparently so.

    Wordle – Beautiful Word Clouds

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
