{"id":3952,"date":"2022-04-30T17:53:27","date_gmt":"2022-04-30T22:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bigdadoo.com\/blog\/staging\/3703\/?p=3952"},"modified":"2022-04-30T17:53:27","modified_gmt":"2022-04-30T22:53:27","slug":"fitness-improving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bigdadoo.com\/blog\/2022\/04\/30\/fitness-improving\/","title":{"rendered":"Fitness Improving"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, along with loosing some weight I&#8217;ve been focused on another cycling fitness goal, that of improving my&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/blog\/what-ftp-really-means-to-cyclists\/\">Functional Threshold Power<\/a>&nbsp;or FTP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once upon time I hit a record high in my FTP of 311 way back in January 2014 and that was the last time it&#8217;s been anywhere near that good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the last 4 1\/2 years various health issues have put a dint in my cycling abilities and correspondingly the FTP has been on a bit of a roller coaster. But after some steady workouts over the winter things are once again looking up. Today, I hit 230, the highest it&#8217;s been in a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bigdadoo.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/2022-04-30_17-30-57.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9634\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve been using the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ca.wahoofitness.com\/wahoo-x-subscription\">Wahoo X<\/a>&nbsp;(formerly known as Wahoo Systm before they acquired RGT) for measuring FTP for the last little while and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.trainerroad.com\/\">TrainerRoad<\/a>&nbsp;before that all the way back to March 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wahoo Systm has two tests that they use to measure FTP the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.wahoofitness.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/4404067414418-The-Half-Monty-fitness-assessment-Everything-you-need-to-know\">Half Monty<\/a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.wahoofitness.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360021387460-How-to-get-your-most-accurate-Full-Frontal-Results\">Full Frontal<\/a>.
